We moved to SLS after our stay at another hotel didn't work out. Do not let the tacky lobby deter you, and yes the lobby decoration is tacky and ugly. The rooms are quite nice and spacious. There was ample room to put all our luggage with an oval dining table and couch. The beds were double, not queen, but it was sufficient. Housekeeping came everyday and service was really good and friendly. Bathroom was spacious, but I don't get the design. I am not sure why the bathroom was designed as such that the water comes out even with the curtains. Having said that, there was ample room and shelving to keep everything. The bathroom had one door that could open into the bedroom. I don't understand why hotels can't have locks on bathroom doors. Unlocked bathrooms just aren't practical. We were very happy with our stay. I paid for stay and eat, and the breakfast included American breakfast. The restaurant had prompt service but on the weekend they were incredibly busy, so much so that seating was slow, service was incredibly slow and they messed up our order several times, but tried to right it each time. In hindsight, I would not have paid for breakfast because it took away the flexibility of just picking up something from outside since weekends were so slow. Breakfast was quite good overall, and the servers really tried but maybe short-staffed. Location is so convenient. Some people recommend other hotels over this for convenience, but this was merely 7-10 minutes walk from the mall, and 10 minutes Uber from La Brea and Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. It was a 30-40 minute drive to Santa Monica beach, 30 minutes to Pasadena, and 40-50 minutes to Griffith. Everything else like Hollywood, Sunset Strip, etc. was not too far. Parking was $75 per night which is standard. Trader Joe's is nearby, and a Korean BBQ place and Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ were across the street. We ordered in multiple times during our 4 night stay, and ordering in from outside and room service were both so easy and convenient. We were overall happy with our stay. The rooftop pool was beautiful and heated but due to the rains we were unable to enjoy it. I would stay here again, but likely consider Santa Monica next time to change things up. I highly recommend SLS and do not let the location deter you - it is not that far from central areas.

Best hotel experience to-date. Nice room, very clean. The rooftop Pool is a one-of-a-kind. We had dinner at The Nook. The food is delectable (thanks to the very good chef, Tricia) and the service provided by Sebastian and Christopher was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Great fine dining experience, truly enjoyed the food, the restaurant. Sebastian simply incredible server to us, made us feel like home and treated us amazing. We even had the chance to meet the Cheff when we said the food is incredible. We would highly recommend it.

fix grammar they said love is sweeter the second time around..and that applies to our stay here at SLS! it's always a nice start when you're greeted warmly during check-in and LIVA exceeded that far beyond expectations! The whole staff, the valet service,housekeeping and everyone is truly exceptional. This would now be our first choice everytime we want a staycation in LA! perfect for our family,the king suite is huge. amazing rooftop deck and their avocado toast and shakshuka for breakfast (until 1:30 PM! another plus!) is a must (kiss mediocre breakfast menus goodbye!)
