This hotel is not worth any money, if I'm being honest. We booked it to enjoy the waterpark, however, it's best to visit the attraction and stay somewhere else. The waterpark isn't discounted for guests anyway. Rooms are not as pictured. Very outdated. Service was terrible. Everything was old & unclean. The hotel smelled like marijuana and sweat. We had to request a room change, then we had to complain for our room to get clean after 2 days of no housekeeping. The spa changes their hours everyday at their convenience so getting a day pass was unsuccessful. There was only one pool in the VIP Paradise Island of the waterpark, so it's not as advertised and gets boring. My boyfriend and I ended up on the kids side to have fun. The front desk clerks and housekeeping staff are not hospitable at all!! The hotel has a ton of arcade games, not much casino or restaurant options. A lot of the amenities, restaurants, and cafes advertised are permanently closed.

We stayed here as part of a room block for a cheer competition. The room was very outdated and not very clean, though the bathroom was ok. I did my usual bedbug check and found not even a mattress protector on the beds. The mattresses were also old and sagging/not comfortable. Fortunately we were not spending much time in the room. We didn't have time for the water park, but did visit the arcade. We were disappointed nothing in the hotel was open for breakfast before 9:30am as we had to be at the competition in the hotel at 7:45am. Everyone was going to the Starbucks next door to order coffee/food and the wait was crazy. Had I known, I would have stayed at one of the neighboring hotels that it also more updated.

"Showboat-You need to do better."

Rooms were outdated. The light in our bedroom was faulty and an electrical hazard. Luckily the bathroom had decent pressure and hot water. Bed was old and caved in the middle and no fitted sheet. Very thin. And pillows were few. Not enough at all. Employees were not helpful, had no urgency to them and had a very unpleasant attitude. Asked for late checkout due to a cheer competition and even though it was in our files they still cut the key off and we were lucky that a cleaning lady (who barely spoke English) let us in our room to grab our stuff. I am very disappointed with this experience and I think that the showboat needs to do better if they are going to host events.

"Unsafe, outdated, and overpriced"

We attended a cheerleading competition at the hotel and unfortunately, this hotel is not family friendly. We entered the parking garage that has low clearance, tight spaces, and costs $25 a day. There is no monitor for the garage either. We entered the hotel with no presence of security at the entrance. The elevators were not all working and it took very long to get into the working ones. The surrounding area is unsafe with many people offering drugs on the boardwalk, used needles and urine are in the stairwell, and the smell of marijuana is heavy in all areas. The waterpark is much smaller than it appears in pictures. It also closes at 8 PM. In fact, there is no other pool available so you must pay to use the waterpark if you want to take a swim at this hotel. The room was outdated with old furnishings, an old TV, and tiny pillows and thin covers. The mattresses do not even have covers on them, only sheets. The picture of updated rooms are false advertising. Not all rooms have been renovated. After paying $900 for one night, my family is underwhelmed and will not be returning. If you’re looking for a waterpark, visit Kalahari or Great Wolf Lodge. For the beach, visit nearby Ocean City which is kid-friendly. The Showboat is definitely not worth the cost and the risk of your family’s safety.
