I’ve been coming here since the 80s first as a kid then with my kids and now my grandkids. This year it sucked! Now they make you stand in line to get in the wave pool and the Torrent river which used to be so much fun…. they make adults wear lifejackets or you can go sign a waiver with your drivers license that you were for sure just carrying around in your bathing suit pocket. These lifejackets literally drown you because they are so awful. They also lowered the water level, which basically makes you rip up your knees constantly. We had a cabana and we’re supposed to get a free locker. When I walked all the way to the back and asked for my free locker they said they were supposed to give me my key at the front. We did not want to walk a mile to get the key so we had to pay $22. There is only one entrance to the Kristal river now instead of multiple entrances. Half of the stuff is just closed like they don’t have enough staff and the cabana we paid for was a long hot walk to any source of water even though it shows it on the map being right off the lazy river. It seems like they want everything to be as inconvenient as possible.

My daughters ( 2) and I have been coming here for years! This was the first year I was able to afford a fancy cottage. Upon arrival, check-in staff was warm and welcoming! We got to our cottage/cabin; and it is not that and it smells horrible. The cabin is basically one giant room, with the two queen beds in the same room as living room; really disappointed, there are no dresser drawers or anywhere to put clothes, not even a closet and we are staying for four days! The room smelled so bad, we called the front desk and they sent someone to replace an air freshener. The a/c would not come down from 77, so they then sent maintenance. It got down to 75, when we first got to our room, Intold maintenance the sink was stinky too and not draining they came and cleaned out the bathroom sink the day before we left, it was clogged with a massive hair nest ……The staff was kind, all of them. Then room was just gross, stinky and filthy, the pullout out sofa still had dirty sheets with crumbs on it and floor had candy wrappers under bed. The cabin was not sanitary to walk in without flip flops, there was no trashcan in bathroom, so maxipads had to be thrown in kitchen trash. They never came to clean room, and I had to hunt down stuff daily from housekeeping in the parking lot, coffee, towels, etc., for the price you pay a night, over $200, it should be clean when you check in. Really really sad, the staff was super friendly, but the whole park has lost it’s vibe, from the mandatory life jackets at the wave pool ( I didn’t have my license on me!) to the whole hand stamp thing, it’s changed so much, not for the good.

"Wonderful day at Schlitterbahn"

We love Schlitterbahn, particularly the original section. We go every summer and just got back from a visit today. My younger son prefers the new section, so he and his friend went there, and my older son and I spent the day in the original section. We love the retro vibe in the original section, the river water used in rides, the trees, and the river. Bonus that Raging River was emptying into the river today. I generally dislike theme parks but love Schlitterbahn since it is so unique.

Bravo to the entire staff in the old park, specifically from the Whitewater tube chute !! It was my first ride of the day and unfortunately also my last. I was having so much fun riding the waves and getting splashed until I lost my RX glasses. I couldn't see anymore, I couldn't believe I had lost them. I was frantic. I couldn't enjoy my day because I was worried. I kept going over to the lost & found, but nothing had been turned in. Finally, at the end of the day, I checked back just one more time and the glasses had been found. I was so elated! I love Schlitterbahn!!! THANK YOU!

Definitely not even close to the world’s best water park. Half of the park was closed with no prior notice. The half that was open had extremely long lines. The staff were apathetic, and the rides were run down. Visit Aquatica in San Antonio instead for a way better time!
