We had a corner room on the 10th floor overlooking the Chicago River and the views were fantastic! The room was large enough to comfortably fit both queen beds and a small bar top table near the windows. The room was clean and updated, staff very friendly and accommodating. Location could not have been better, many attractions and restaurants are walkable, including Ocean Prime two doors down Wacker Dr. Valet parking available but pricey, still better than navigating a public parking garage at night. Bar and restaurant (best for breakfast and light meals) onsite. Doormen friendly but not overbearing. We’ll be back!

I have only positive things to say about the Royal Sonesta in downtown Chicago. The location was perfect - it was an easy walk to almost everything we wanted to do and the couple of things it wasn't, the train stations were close by. The view was unbeatable - we had a river view. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. We got housekeeping service every day - and that seems to be a rarity these days. And every person on the staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. We did not eat at the restaurant, so we can't speak to that. By far, this was the best hotel experience we have had in a long, long time. I will not hesitate to look at the Sonesta brand for any future vacations and definitely will choose this hotel if we are ever back in Chicago.

We never stay anywhere else when we visit Chicago!! Everybody in this building is so friendly and helpful at all times. This particular trip was celebrating a birthday, and I noticed I was upgraded to another room from the beginning! I had acquired some points from staying at the Sonesta so much, so I booked an additional night in a different room (the original room we stayed in would have required more points to redeem). When we explained this situation while we were checking-out-to-check-back-in, Iyonna was blown away that I hadn’t been offered another night in the room we were currently staying. I didn’t know that was something I could have asked for!! I am very shy and do not like to make a big deal out of anything, but she made it seem for effortless to want to help! She got with her manager and was able to shift things over for us! I would love to thank Iyonna, who went above and beyond for us during this visit. There is another lovely lady, I apologize I do not know her name; but she writes on the breakfast cards the initials P.M. She actually recognized us from a previous stay as well! She has been the one there almost every time we’ve stayed and has been nothing but professional and so nice. Everyone in Hoyt’s is just as friendly. We are so lucky to have visited more frequently the last couple of years and are happy to see familiar faces. We were also recognized in there from previous visits! We just love the Royal Sonesta and look forward to our next visit in September!!
