"Disappointing End to Our Honeymoon"

We stayed at the Riviera Suites South Beach and were placed in Room 101 on the ground floor, right beside reception — a room that should not be offered to guests under any circumstances. Despite raising concerns about noise at check-in, we were assured it would be quiet. It was not. Conversations from reception were clearly audible late into the night and early morning, even while wearing heavy-duty earplugs. The ceiling above is paper-thin — we were woken at 4am by the guest upstairs simply moving a suitcase and walking around. Every step echoed through the room. The room itself was far too small to accommodate two people with luggage. There was no space to store bags, and the layout was poorly designed. The bathroom had a nearly transparent glass door facing directly onto the bed, offering zero privacy. Worse still, the shower leaked water into the bedroom and under the bed, creating a slip hazard. The air conditioning unit blew directly onto the bed, making sleep even more uncomfortable. We booked this hotel expecting a restful final night before a 9-hour flight home to Ireland. Instead, it was a stressful and frustrating experience — a deeply disappointing end to what had otherwise been a wonderful honeymoon. The hotel initially offered an alternative room after I complained — but once they realised we weren’t staying another night, they didn’t even bother to respond. A refund would have been a more appropriate gesture given the extent of the issues. If you’re booking here, avoid Room 101 at all costs. In fact, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere altogether for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights Lee our cruise and it was awful. The room was so old and dark with a brick wall as a view out the window. The bathroom was so dirty and the sink was right by our bed to wash your hands when you finished in the bathroom . The air con was awful and triggered my asthma so badly . It’s clear the advertise rooms on their website and when you get there your stuck away in a dingy room. You’ll smell all sorted of air fresheners in the hall way and that’s to disguise the smell of staleness . Overall this was a pretty lame excuse of a hotel and we would never return .

Room was clean but had a moldy scent that triggered my allergies. Shower drained slowly. Great location in terms of its proximity to the Convention Center. Was able to walk to Sea Trade venue within 5 minutes. Property could do well with a refresh of the rooms and there was no telephones in the rooms.
