I’ve stayed at Los Abrigados Resort a couple times over the past few months, each time for about a week, and I’ve loved every bit of it. The room with the hot tub was perfect, the amenities were great, and the location in Tlaquepaque couldn’t be better—walking distance to great shops and restaurants while still feeling like a peaceful retreat. The front desk staff, especially Jed and the girl from Utah (whose name I wish I remembered), were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the concierge made everything even easier. The resort is beautiful, well-maintained, and an amazing value for the price. I’ll definitely be staying here again and will recommend it to anyone I know visiting Sedona

There is a kids pool and an adult pool. Just a suggestion, but I feel like kids should not be in the adult pool during Happy Hour. Adults want to be there and in the pool, drunk parents taking advantage of Happy Hour are NOT watching their kids in the pool! Kids do NOT belong in here at this time and there is, after all, a designated kids pool…

My husband and I went for my birthday to enjoy the pool and surrounding area. We took advantage of the opportunity to visit the shopping and restaurant area near the hotel. The service was very good. We'll return to enjoy the hotel spa more.

I sent my pregnant daughter and son-in-law as a congratulations to this resort and boy was it a mistake! They overbooked the room type, send my daughter to an Inn instead of a resort promising a room with all the same amenities only to find out it’s not nearly as nice, doesn’t have those amenities and they had to fight for almost 2 hours for a room that they ended up paying more for! If you book with these guys beware!

Los Abrigados is a Hilton Grand Vacation property, which was acquired from Diamond Resorts. We were amongst the first to stay in one of their refurbished/remodeled suites! (See pics attached) After reading all the reviews I didn’t know what to expect. We are owners with HGVC for many years and chose this resort because of its location and amenities. We received a message from the resort that our suite was ready. We went to the lobby to check in and Rachel assisted us. I told her from the start, “we are not going to attend any presentations”, please put a note for marketing to not call our room and those requests were honored. We had requested a first floor, renovated suite because there is no elevator and we got that. There were 5 steps up to the building. The room renovations were nicely updated. The sofa and chairs are not the type of chairs/sofa that you would necessarily be able to lay down and watch a movie on. They are sofa beds and brand new, so that’s what we did. The patio is the same, but the doors were updated. We had a very nice view, but some of the views are obscured by the mature trees on the property. The kitchen was perfect for us, as we didn’t cook in the room. The refrigerator is large enough for a week’s worth of drinks, snacks, salad, cold cuts, etc. our ice maker didn’t work, but there was an ice machine in the next building. The kitchen had some decorative updates as well. The master bedroom in our one bedroom suite was perfect. The water closet (toilet) and shower are separate from the vanity area, with a door to close for privacy. Lots of drawers, a safe and a small area to hang clothes. The unit was very clean and everything else was fine. The front door lock was a bit difficult to lock, but we didn’t call maintenance. Warning: there is ongoing construction at the resort. When you book, you might want to call a week before and ask for a suite away from the construction. They even blocked off parts of the parking so as not to damage any cars from the construction. But, the parking is somewhat challenging. We ended up going out in the mornings, late lunch and bringing the leftovers back for dinner. If you come back to the resort after sunset, if the resort is heavily booked it may be more difficult to find parking near your suite. The days that we stayed out late, we had to drive around the one way loop a couple of times & walk to the suite. After our second day, a couple checked in upstairs. They were loud and woke us up at 4:15am one morning. We called security and they said they were rushing to get to their hot air balloon ride. They didn’t get any quieter after that day! It sounded like the Jolly Green Giant and his wife were staying there. The front desk offered to move us, but we didn’t feel comfortable going to a 2nd floor room. They finally checked out and the same day another couple checked in that were very quiet. (Bring ear plugs, headphones) The grounds are absolutely beautiful! Check out the Creekside Park over near the tennis courts. It has a walk along Oak Creek, a labyrinth, chairs made out of stone, picnic areas, mini-golf, and is pretty accessible. I went to the Spa and it needs updating. But, the treatment rooms were clean and up to par. It’s just the locker room and some updates need to be done. There is a balcony accessible from the spa that has great views. The pool and jacuzzi were good, but the pool was in the small side for such a large resort. We used the laundry facilities. Bring your own dryer sheets and laundry pods. They had the thermostat in the facility set at 78 and it was hot in there. I propped the doors open with rocks and it was perfect. The laundry facility is so so. (3 washers, three dryers, a couple of worn out sitting chairs and a shelf to fold laundry. 2 baskets with wheelers to transfer loads. They will probably renovate it soon, but we are used to have a w/d in our suite at HGVC branded resorts. The lobby area is beautiful! We got to meet Amanda at the front desk, who helped us so much and the concierge, Greg who were both so professional. There is an easy entrance to Tlaquepaque, near Secret Garden Cafe and an underground pedestrian tunnel so you don’t have to walk across busy road. The restaurant on site was very good and had good service. I think it is called TImo Ven Wine Bar; we had over fired pizza and the crust was very thin and tasty.
