"Fun place for the family minus the careless staff"

I have been to lake compounce at least 40 times over the last 8 years and its almost always a good experience. they have a good selection of attractions for both the thrill seeker and those looking for rides on the mild side. First off parking is $25 which even though sounds crazy, is actually more than most theme parks. The parking experience is normally smooth getting in and out. The ticket prices are reasonable compared to other days. $55 at the gate and $35 online. They also have an online special were you get a ticket + full meal (entree, side, drink, and cookie for $50. That meal bought in the park would be almost $30. The ticketing experience is usually smooth. The upgraded to turnstile kiosks were you scan your ticket yourself instead of having to wait for a staff to do it. One negative thing I want to highlight is the security. Before Covid-19, They had 8 lanes for the metal detectors and all bags would be checked. Keys, wallets and phones all had to come out and go in the bins. the process would take a while sometimes, but makes sense because security is a must. They now have 2 lanes for metal detectors, they check bags when they feel like it even if the metal detector goes off, the staff are completely careless not to mention they went from over 15 security officers down to 4 people. Speaking of staff, many of the ride operators and food service people are careless about their job as well. This often leads to long waits for rides and food. However many of the staff do care about being efficient and if you catch them your day will often be much better. Moving on to the rides, while it is a small park there are still tons of attractions. There are 4 rollercoasters. 2 wooden and 2 steal. Average waits: Boulder dash 20mins, Wildcat 40mins, phobia 10mins, zoomerang 15mins. Other thrill seeker rides would be thunder n lightning, revolution, and down time, They also have many rides fun for the family like the saw mill plunge, ghost hunt, and thunder rapids. This park also features a kiddie section with many rides aimed toward smaller children. The height limit for most of the kiddie rides is 56" unless you are accompanying a child. This park also features a large water peark with many fun water slides and wave pools. Over all this place is pretty solid. Again the only negative part is the careless staff at times.

"Not happy!!"

Was so looking forward to visiting with our 10 year old. Something has to be done about the staff and the food places. Horrible interactions with staff. It was clear none of them wanted to be there. This was not a cheap outing for my family. Extremely disappointed. Won’t be returning.

"DON'T GO TO TIMBER JACK!!!"

So this is more of a review of Timber Jack, the restaurant. Atrocious. Absolutely Atrocious. Cleanliness is nonexistent, the food is abhorrent. Imagine ordering a grilled chicken sandwich and getting a non edible puck that's been left out most of the day. The fries? Good luck. If you can get an angle, you'll see that all the fryers are saying they need their filters changed. The park is OK, with the exception of all the wasps at every soda fountain. But this place, Timber Jack? A dumpster behind a dunkin donuts would be cleaner and have better food.

"Disappointed in the food"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed August 24, 2025 NEW
Very disappointed in this place. The water slides were okay but the food! They advertise “healthy” there was nothing there that could remotely be considered healthy. And vegetarian? Just fried food and pretzels. Multiple staff members said there are vegetarian burgers available but the burger places were clueless. And I went there as soon as they opened so it’s not like they ran out. Tried to order pasta salad but there was none available. Very disappointed in the food options, and also the time it took.
