"Horrible experience"

Horrible experience from start to finish wasn’t heard from any employee or manager on my concerns. Try to get my refund back for a night. I didn’t stay and gave the runaround for over 24 hours.

"Not a pleasant stay"

I'll start with two positives which were 1) it had a cute outdoor fireplace with seating area and 2) it's easy on/off to I-5 freeway and close to grocery and restaurants. Now the issues. Staff wasn't very friendly (and we chatted with several). Our room was marginally clean but definitely needed some TLC. The caulk in the shower was deteriorating and absent in some spots. The shower enclosure was yellowing (should have been white). There were cobwebs in the corners of the room. After being there for 2 days, we found ants in our room. We were given another room which also had ants. The third room didn't have ants but the outlet in the bathroom didn't work (and the GFI didn't work to reset it). We told the front desk and they said that maintenance would come up but they never did. So I had to use other outlets for my hairdryer and curling iron...not convenient. There was supposed to be a Fitness Center but it was just an empty room. It did have breakfast included but the eggs and potatoes were not good. I stuck to yogurt and the prepackaged muffins. Even though this hotel was cost effective, I would NEVER return to this facility, and seriously question the Wyndam brand.

"Terrible Experience. Do Not Stay Here"

This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had, and I would never come back. I called days in advance on Tuesday, January 13 to ask if our rooms could be placed near my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. I was told to call the day of check-in and that it would be possible. My mother-in-law then called again on January 17 at 8:40 AM, and your staff confirmed again that our rooms could be placed together. Fast forward to 6:00 PM at check-in, and suddenly we were told it was not possible because the hotel was sold out. If that’s the case, why did your staff promise this multiple times? We planned our stay based on those assurances. The lack of communication and follow-through was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. It didn’t stop there. I had requested a crib in my reservation, but when we finally got to the room after a long, exhausting day at Legoland, there was no crib waiting for us. I had to go back out of my way to request one, and I still had to set it up myself. The room itself was in deplorable condition. The flooring was damaged and unsafe, and I actually stepped on a nail inside the room, which is completely unacceptable, especially in a family-friendly hotel. I’ve attached photos to show the condition of the floors. To make things worse, even basic amenities were not functional. The blow dryer in the room was messed up and did not work properly, which only added to the frustration after such a long day. Between the broken promises, poor communication, lack of preparation, non-working amenities, and unsafe room conditions, this stay was completely unacceptable. Never again. Save yourself the stress and stay somewhere else besides La Quinta. If I could give this place a 0 I would.

"Clean but right next to freeway loud"

Our first family trip of 8 came to carlsbad for a 2 night 3 day stay. Place was very clean. Breakfest wasn't all that good besides the waffles. The juices and coffee was good. The fitness room was under construction without notice. We were bummed out. Our key cards for both rooms stopped working randomly during our stay. The hotel and our room was right next to the freeway, so it was extremely hard to sleep the first night. The noise of fast speeding cars on the freeway was so loud, it was so hard to fall asleep. I normally can sleep through anything. There was a fridge and microwave in the room which was very convenient. I probably wouldn't choose this hotel again due to the price and location.

"Another great visit at La Quinta, Carlsbad"

This is my family's third visit at this location. We're always welcomed with great kindness, and compassionate to the children's needs, even receiving lego figurines upon check in. The bedrooms are immaculate. The breakfast options, so hot, fresh and offering a great variety of food.
