I read numerous reviews for locations at Kingston Plantation and chose Margate Tower. Doug Burbank was very helpful in answering my questions before my stay. With 38 years in hospitality, I had high expectations, and I was not disappointed. We stayed in a 4-bedroom condo; the initial supplies were minimal (one roll of toilet paper per bathroom for three nights for eight people), but housekeeping quickly provided additional supplies when requested. It was impressive also when the housekeeping received my call they took a moment and verbally stated let me summarize what I needed, Excellent response. The fitness center, Black Drum Restaurant, and shuttle service were excellent; Bill, Les and Rob were our drivers. We required the assistance of maintenance with our televisions, as we were attempting to run the Amazon Prime app or Netflix. Unfortunately, the owners did not leave the remotes for the TVs, preventing us from using internet-based applications. We highly recommend Kingston Resorts for a stay in North Myrtle Beach. The pools, beach, restaurants, bars, fitness center, walking paths, and shuttle service were perfect. Our group plans to return next year and this was still fun with all the rain we had! I regret that I cannot recall the name of the houseman; it was unusual and I believe it began with a W. Additionally, I did not catch the name of the maintenance person, who was also very kind. My feedback is to inform guests in advance about what they may need to bring to the condo when they book. Although I called beforehand to inquire about various details, it would have been helpful to know specifics such as only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, no hand soap, dishwashing liquid detergent, paper towels or dishtowels provided. A list with suggestions on necessary items could be sent ahead of time. Fortunately, housekeeping was able to deliver many of these items upon request. Also, the map that I received at check in maybe helpful to provide in advance as well. ar

When preparing the paperwork for several staff attending a conference, it's my job to be certain their accommodations are paid for before they arrive. Did I mention they are staying in different locations around the property? With great patience, FEMI kindly went through each Confirmation with me to be certain all the balances were correct. I don't imagine the people in the Kingston Plantation Finance Department are thanked often for their hard work. So, I am sending a BIG THANK YOU to Remi and others in her department who keep guest happy, before and after their stay. Keep up the great customer service!

We stayed in Margate unit 1609 for a family vacation and it was simply lovely. The 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom condo was giant and so comfortable. While it lacked much of an ocean view, it made up for that in spades in the sizes of the bedrooms, bathrooms and the super-sized laundry room. It was also comforting to be in a gated community and additionally have a security person at the desk at all hours of the day when you entered the Margate building. It was not inexpensive, that's for sure, but after a really disappointing check-in at another hotel that was filthy we were just happy to be in a safe, clean environment with a great pool area and easy beach access. I would definitely stay here again and, in particular, in room 1609. My only suggestion - a few more kitchen amenities. There were no large stockpots (for things like spaghetti), no cookie sheets/pizza pans and only two frying pans so making breakfast was a challenge. But all-in-all it was a great stay in a comfortable, quiet condo.

This was not my first stay here, but it will definitely be my last. For nearly $1,000 for three nights, I expected a much higher standard of service and accommodations. The check-in experience was frustrating from the start. The staff member who assisted us was very short and unhelpful. He incorrectly told us we were staying in Arrowhead when we were actually in Lakeside. To make matters worse, the room number written on our key card was illegible. After hauling all of our luggage to the wrong condo, I called the front desk, only to be given yet another wrong location (Brighton). It took multiple calls and a lot of confusion before we finally got the correct information. Once we arrived at Lakeside 201, the disappointment only continued. The "lake view" is practically non-existent — the view is obstructed and misleading. The balcony is unusable, with a rusted-out table that looks unsafe. Inside, the bathrooms were filthy, with grimy fixtures that clearly haven't been properly cleaned. Two of the TVs in the unit didn’t work — the living room TV had no sound, and the small bedroom TV wasn’t even connected to cable. The master bedroom desperately needs blackout curtains, as it faces a floodlight that makes sleeping difficult. As for the beds, they were incredibly hard, uncomfortable, and squeaky. Overall, Lakeside 201 was a complete disappointment. If you are offered this unit at check-in, RUN! Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. I expected much better for the price I paid.
