My second time at Chicago Magnificent Mile: the hotel, in general terms is fascinating, with all the glamour of the early´s 1900´s. It is walkable distance from Clark Subway Station where one arrives when coming from O´Hare ( I think 20 minutes walk). Chack-in staff was kind but I found information provided by IHG Site was misleading: before booking I inquired about the most modern rooms and was told they were the Grand Tower ones. However at the hotel, they offered the Executive Tower Rooms as the most modern and newly renovated, but with a $100 per night upgrade even on Premium room .This kind of misleading information seems to be happening a lot with IHG.Unfortunately. Parcels from Amazon were delivered to FEDEX and were charged according to its size: even a small one was charged between 4 or 6 dollars. The given room was roomy and comfortable. Bathroom was Ok. Plenty of space to work. Breakfast was OK: not so many options but many. Coffee was one of the best ones I ever drank in USA. Breakfast staff-,specially a lovely young blonde woman and receptionist were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Swimming pool-as ever- is great. Fitness rather smal for a so big facility. Hopefully I will be back.

I have been coming to this hotel for two weeks during RSNA for five years now, and it feels like I am visiting friends. Except for a few new colleagues, the breakfast service staff are still the same. That is something very special. All services, such as the quality of the food, professional service at the reception, and efficient housekeeping, are of a very high standard. I have already secured my stay for the next RSNA2026 and am looking forward to it.

Quite disappointed with this stay, particularly the room.... 1. Walls were marked up / wallpaper torn and in need of repair. Very shabby. 2. The bathroom was a joke. Not only tiny, but in order to stand at the sink I needed to first navigate to the side of the toilet and then close the door behind me in order to get to it. Then the door swings back in and 'traps' you at the sink... But that issue paled in comparison to the fact the walk-in shower is more than 50% exposed and only featured a partial glass partition. (A ridiculous set-up.) As a result, the water goes EVERYWHERE when showering so it then takes several towels to mop up the very slippery marble floor itself after each use. Adding to the frustration was the lame shower nozzle that delivered limited pressure. (I would have gotten a better shower standing outside in the rain.) 3. This stay was a waste of IHG points, and at the end of the day I was just thankful I didn't spend money on this room... And yet even though I didn't pay anything for the room I, perplexingly, still had to pay taxes on something that had no dollar value??? 4. This stay was a "one and done" for me... On my next visit to Chicago, I intend to return to the (wonderful) Gwen Hotel located right across the street, which is a true 5* experience.
