The location of the hotel could not be any better. It’s absolutely perfect. The staff is very friendly. My husband and I went for business and stayed for five days and our room only got cleaned one time and that was when I went downstairs and requested a room cleaning. And the rooms were not very clean at all. That was mold in the bathroom shower and headboard at our bed was absolutely nasty.

We stayed for two nights at this high rise hotel in the downtown Chicago district known as Magnificent Mile. The weather in early September was delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is mostly a business and convention hotel but we found it ideal as a base for touring, too. It sits about a block from the Chicago River, with easy access to entrances to the Riverwalk. A couple of pleasure cruise boats take off very near the hotel, including the famous First Lady ship, which features a terrific architectural tour led by expert guides. (We highly recommend this tour and were surprised and pleased with how much one can see and learn from this 90 minute cruise.) There are plenty of shops and restaurants around, and transit options are not too far away. And if one is a walker, Millennium Park (featuring the Cloud (aka “the Bean”) outdoor sculpture), the Art Institute of Chicago, and Grant Park are all less than 20 minutes away on foot. Out hotel room was on the 26th floor of the Executive Tower. It was roomy and functional but, despite being so high up and having multiple windows in a corner room, had only limited city views due to being surrounded by non-descript buildings. The toilet in our bathroom was a bit temperamental, taking a long time to flush. Although we were out of our room from about 11 am until after 5 pm, our room was not serviced. The front desk and bell staff were courteous and efficient.

Valet experience was miserable….having to have your car parked every time even for short in and outs is very a real pain in the butt and to have to retrieve your car from the basement is even worse….I had detailed my car so it would look immaculate and finding out they were parking it off site really upset me….I could had parked it off site a lot cheaper and would had access to it all the time and if you needed to get in your car for anything they had to move it and keep the key in their possession like I was going to steal my own car….the amenities extra charge….absolutely un called for….charged daily to use the pool or weight room in which we never used nor saw….shouldn’t that be part of the hotel package you already paid for…..mini bar…..I understand you want to make extra money but as a guess you could make it a little more reasonable and on top of that you charge another tax on it…the stay was all but average and we will never stay here again

From Will at the front door who was such an upbeat, friendly and helpful first face to see to the very helpful front desk, my experience started off great and continued throughout my stay. We were upgraded to a Jr. Suite which was bright, roomy and lovely. I'll definitely be requesting this room in the future (2461). Cannot recommend this hotel enough! The only thing of note that might be something to me mindful of if you're a light sleeper, the traffic from Michigan Ave, particularly late night motorcycles, is quite loud even up high on the 24th floor. This is no fault of the hotels but you might want to request a room facing a different direction if that would bother you.
