My wife and I were in SF for our anniversary. The front desk was very friendly. They offered plenty of good dinner options. Not only was the location perfect for our needs, but the hotel was clean and staff friendly. Many good restaurants and shopping nearby, would love to stay again.

Beautiful hotel and walkable to a lot of different restaurants in the area. But also dining in was easy and quick and delicious with the hotels Anzu restaurant. Staff was polite and courteous. We had a very comfortable king sized bed and huge walk-in shower. Would love to stay again.

"Imperial Lounge now disappointing, now not worth it (even insulting)."

Reviewed May 11, 2025 NEW
We have been coming to the Hotel Nikko SF since 2005. We even traveled to hotel Nikko Tokyo in Odaiba in 2007 when I was pregnant with our oldest child. We were so impressed with the upgrades here in SF through and after the pandemic. In our 20 years we have had the privilege of staying in every single suite that this wonderful hotel has to offer, but above and beyond we have always been sure to have access to the Imperial Lounge. Sadly, we will not be returning until we hear that there have been some drastic changes to service and availability of goods in the Imperial lounge. For example, we arrived in time for the evening cocktail hour and the food that was made available this time was the exact components of a lunchable. If you don't know what a lunchable is, you can look it up online and that is the spread that the extra service provided you for being an Imperial Lounge. In addition, obviously from instruction from management, the host of the lounge charged at us very aggressively to ask what is your room number before they would allow us to do anything in the lounge. This is easily solvable by having a podium like in any other establishment with a gentle sign that says please wait here for service. Then the server can vary politely and nicely welcome you to the establishment and then ask you for your credentials. Charging customers physically and demanding their room number such that other people can hear your room number is very invasive. Normally I travel to the Nico only with my child and therefore I am a single woman in those situations. Luckily, last night my husband was with me. If I were traveling alone, there is absolutely no way that I would audibly share my room number in a room where other people could hear it. Sadly, after 20 years I will not be returning to Hotel Nikko SF until I hear that they have changed their protocol and what they make available in the Imperial Lounge.
