I stayed at this hotel to celebrate the Navy's 250th birthday, and the Hilton did not disappoint. I requested a room with a view of the river, and I got a corner room with fantastic views. I could see the U.S.S. New Jersey, as well as the Olympia & the submarine. I enjoyed watching the river traffic. My room was very spacious and the bathroom was huge. As other reviewers have noted, the furniture is dated, and this is true. The carpet and a chair in my room were stained as well, but overall I felt my room was clean. I ate several meals at the Rope & Anchor restaurant, and found the food to be mediocre and the service extremely slow. Hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. In short, I would recommend this hotel, especially for those who want to visit the Seaport Museum.

Ok so let me start from the beginning. When we arrived at this hotel the elevators were a bit confusing but we figured it out. We were exhausted after our flight so we went to bed without checking out the room. Oh boy when we got back the next morning from breakfast we saw our room for the first time. Dust was everywhere. The app told me our room was being cleaned when we checked in. It’s was almost like they neglected dusting or the room hadn’t been touched in months. My husband bought drinks and we couldn’t put anything in the fridge. The freezer part had a huge block of ice in it. Dust was on top of the fridge, around, beside and behind. Very obvious! So we called front desk to complain. They were helpful by sending someone to clean it out. When we got back from lunch the fridge was left half cleaned. Ice was everywhere and a half block of ice was left. My husband called front desk and complained about it and complained about the amount of money we spending for 4 days and the quality not present. They offered another room however that room fridge was unacceptable because of accumulated dust and ice. So they gave us the option of checking other rooms but we thought it was worthless and decided to stay in the first room. The hotel is a bit out dated but housekeeping can make things better if they would clean it. I read the reviews but I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt because of their website and location. Housekeeping should have someone over them to check the rooms after it’s cleaned. I worked in hospitality in my 20s and there was always a lead person to check the rooms for cleanliness. This is unacceptable for Hilton. The hotel is a bit rundown but housekeeping plays a major part. The person who came to clean up the ice issue stated it. My best part was the city view on the 17 floor at night. Reading the reviews is very helpful with deciding hotels. We stayed at a few Hilton’s but this one really disappointed us. The restaurant was great!!! We ate there everyday! Good luck!

"Disappointing Stay – Smoke Smell and Noise Issues"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed September 14, 2025
I was very disappointed with my recent stay at this Hilton. Our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which seemed to come through the vents. The odor was so overwhelming that it lingered on our clothes and made the room extremely uncomfortable. Even upon arriving home, my clothes still smelled like smoke. On top of that, the hotel was surprisingly loud. Even though we were on the 12th floor, we could still hear noise from outside (loud music, and a DJ) and within the hotel late into the night, (until 2am) which made it difficult to get a restful sleep. I had higher expectations from Hilton and did not feel the stay reflected the brand’s usual standards.

"Don’t bother. Dirty and dated."
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

Common areas and location good. Room was a C. Dated and dusty. Nice views. Decent bed and bedding. Old furniture. Lamps and chairs full of dust. TV had no streaming. Bathroom was a D. For disgusting. Tub had mold and mildew. Tub floor was tan (no longer white) it smelled musty and moldy. I just tried not to look or touch the walls of tub. Toilet slow to flush and had to take the stopper out of sink to get water to drain properly. It could be really nice with a redo. I did a chat with front desk through app. Since my Conf was at the hotel, I couldn’t check out. They offered me 15,000 points after I requested twice. Also said manager would call me. I never got a phone call. Never got the points either. Disgusted and disappointed. Would not stay here again with other options. Staff nice but no follow up. The views were lovely. Good coffee shop. I was there with a group. At least five other people had similar issues with their rooms, including on non working AC. To be fair, some people said rooms dated but fine. I paid $20 extra a night for a room upgrade. Should have received that back as well. But for now, no points and no follow up call.
