"Wrongfully accused"

I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the Hilton Long Beach. I was wrongly accused of smoking in my room and unfairly charged a fee, despite there being no complaints from the Hilton brand during my stay. To make matters worse, the staff member, Judith, threatened to report me to Hilton family and friends and even tried to involve my Hilton family member in this fabricated incident. This behavior was completely unprofessional and does not represent the standards of the Hilton brand. I feel deeply offended by how I was treated, and I strongly believe accountability is necessary. I hope Hilton takes this seriously and addresses the conduct of employees who misrepresent the brand.

Myself and my friend check into the Hilton Long Beach for a two night stay. Upon check in, we were told that there was a $100 deposit for each night of stay which we had not been informed of prior to booking. Had we known this, we would not have booked the hotel. Upon checkout we asked about the refund of this deposit, and requested a receipt. The woman at reception told us that there was an outstanding balance that had to be paid, we could not understand why as we had paid in full when we checked in. She was extremely rude and impatient, and went back on her statement saying that the charge had just not yet been finalised and we did not in fact have an outstanding balance. It was extremely unnecessarily confusing, and we were left very upset with the interaction. The hotel itself is nice enough, nothing very special. The beds were comfortable and there are complimentary snacks given to you upon arrival, which is a welcome touch. There are also complimentary beverages at the reception area which we appreciated. The location is okay, it’s within walking distance to a few shops, but you need to travel for at least an hour to get to any major tourist attractions. Overall, we would not recommend this hotel based on our experience.

"Unable to get confirmed room due to overbooking."

This is the worst Hotel I have ever dealt with. Wife and I booked here because we signed up for the Long Beach Marathon three weeks in advance. When we got to the hotel to check in , they said they oversold the rooms. We had our confirmation number and they said they there was nothing they could do and they were “unfortunately sorry”. They gave me a sweet deal though; they said , there was a room available at the Hilton in COSTA MESA! Apparently, there was no closer hotel that had available rooms - of course not! They were booked because of the marathon. I found another hotel - Hotel Mai that was down the street, but Gabriel and Hector (workers at the front desk) said they will not cover the expenses at another hotel. Wife and I left and will not be running the marathon. Trained for over a year for nothing. Unbelievable. Stay away from hotels with dirty practices.

"If you're not going to be hospitable - why work in hospitality?"

I booked my stay here over a month in advance and ran into a frustrating situation when I tried to extend. They were fully booked for the extra night I needed — which I completely understand. The issue came when I decided to cancel and book elsewhere. Even though the hotel was at full capacity and would have had no trouble re-selling my room to another guest, they still charged me for half of my stay. What really disappointed me was the lack of flexibility and the complete absence of solution-oriented service. The only response I consistently received was, “I’m sorry, we can’t do anything more.” As someone who worked in hotels for years, I know that’s not true — there are always ways to make things right for a guest. And as someone who works in hospitality, I’ll say this: the very foundation of this industry is being helpful and accommodating. If you’re neither of those things, you simply shouldn’t be working in hospitality. Sadly, that’s the exact impression this experience left me with at this Hilton.
