This is the worst Hotel I have ever dealt with. Wife and I booked here because we signed up for the Long Beach Marathon three weeks in advance. When we got to the hotel to check in , they said they oversold the rooms. We had our confirmation number and they said they there was nothing they could do and they were “unfortunately sorry”. They gave me a sweet deal though; they said , there was a room available at the Hilton in COSTA MESA! Apparently, there was no closer hotel that had available rooms - of course not! They were booked because of the marathon. I found another hotel - Hotel Mai that was down the street, but Gabriel and Hector (workers at the front desk) said they will not cover the expenses at another hotel. Wife and I left and will not be running the marathon. Trained for over a year for nothing. Unbelievable. Stay away from hotels with dirty practices.

I booked my stay here over a month in advance and ran into a frustrating situation when I tried to extend. They were fully booked for the extra night I needed — which I completely understand. The issue came when I decided to cancel and book elsewhere. Even though the hotel was at full capacity and would have had no trouble re-selling my room to another guest, they still charged me for half of my stay. What really disappointed me was the lack of flexibility and the complete absence of solution-oriented service. The only response I consistently received was, “I’m sorry, we can’t do anything more.” As someone who worked in hotels for years, I know that’s not true — there are always ways to make things right for a guest. And as someone who works in hospitality, I’ll say this: the very foundation of this industry is being helpful and accommodating. If you’re neither of those things, you simply shouldn’t be working in hospitality. Sadly, that’s the exact impression this experience left me with at this Hilton.

I want to be blunt and transparent with my experience in this hotel, in a few words, the worst experience in the last 2 year by FAR!!! Based on my job I am traveling constantly and I always stay at Hilton hotels, as you can Imagine I am top tier on their loyalty program, so based on the nature of my travel needs I get a lot of flexibility from Hilton, on reservations and last minute changes with no issues, well this time was not the case, I got a call from work changing my travel plans, so I had to fly right away to another city immediately, this is how this orderal started. When I approached the front desk to advise that I would be leaving that after have stayed only one night, the front desk agent said, no a problem sir, I will add your early departure. Well, later that afteroon when I was ready to chek-out I approached to the front desk, asked for my bill and the person at the front desk said, we will mail it to you, that was it. To my surprise when I go to the airport, checked my mail and foud the bill from Hilton, when I opened to review it is when I found the nasty surprise the Hilton Long Beach had for me, they added a $150.00 dollards " Early Departure Fee", immediately I called the Hilton Customer Service to compllain about the fee since this was the first time that I got this type of fee in my life, the agent called the hotel to request for such a bill to be removed, after speaking to an agent and a Manager the hotel refused to remove the fee which is unacceptable. Be aware, this hotel is all about how they can gouch you money for everything they can, to the point of penny picking......AVOID STAYING in it or you will have a real bad experience!!.

OMG! I mentioned it was my birthday and later I received a phone call saying that they wanted to send up an amenity, and I said, yes. 10 minutes later, I opened the door and they had sent up cheesecake and a birthday card to my room! First Class 5 Star Service! My stays at the Hilton Long Beach has always been been exceptional! The front desk staff has always greeted me and the others with smiles! Kudos to everyone!
