"They Don't Care Much for Diamond Members"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed June 06, 2025 NEW
The Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Seattle wasn't a bad hotel - but my complaint is there seems to be zero focus on Diamond Members - or those like myself who happen to be Lifetime Diamond. Want a late checkout? It's the same for everyone - doesn't matter that you registered 10 years of Diamond Status or stayed over 1,000 nights in your life at Hilton Hotels - the HGI Downtown Seattle will treat you the same as everyone else. I found this particularly annoying and incredibly frustrating. I will say that I found one particular member of the front desk to be off-putting, due to either his attitude or just his overall manner of communicating. Most of the representatives at the front desk were great, but the person I will refer to as 'Nose Ring' was not. He was very dismissive of my minimal requests and likely would be better served working in the back office - he should not be in a client facing role. The hotel wasn't able to offer me a room upgrade - they said it was because the hotel was completely booked. There is no executive lounge - unless you count an open area off the lobby where anyone and everyone can sit to be an executive lounge (it was introduced to me as such when I checked in and asked). On the plus side, the $20 daily coupon will net you a half-decent breakfast. Price for the stay was OK - room was clean - though I had to ask a few times to have my room cleaned each night of my stay. I would not stay there again, simply because there are better options and they do not take care of Lifetime Diamond Members as much as they should.

"Hot, Within Walking Distance"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed May 29, 2025 NEW
This hotel is in a great location that is easily walkable to the pier and even the Space Needle. We only used an Uber once since there’s plenty to see and do within walking distance. However, the room was uncomfortably hot. The air conditioner is on a motion sensor, so the room heats up while you are away and the unit has a hard time catching up. We had the unit on the lowest temp setting and highest fan setting, and I still felt like I was suffocating from humid heat. I asked for a fan and was told someone would bring one up or a maintenance person would look at the unit, but nothing was ever done. The other issue for me was the hardness of the bed. I typically find that Hilton beds are more plush, but this was a very firm mattress with no real softness to speak of. That may not be a problem for some, but it’s not comfortable for me. The general room and amenities were very nice. The fridge worked very well. The TV was a nice size. The room was plenty spacious and clean.

"An ‘ok’ hotel in a good location"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed May 20, 2025 NEW
As it seems a lot of people do, we stayed here for 3 nights ahead of a cruise. It’s an ‘ok’ hotel in a good location from where you can easily walk down to the waterfront and all it has to offer and enjoy the many restaurants, shops and bars nearby. It’s also only a ten minute transfer to the cruise terminal and runs a decent shuttle service for $12 per person. Like other reviewers, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel’s bar. It looks the part but is overpriced. We tried it the night we arrived off a ten hour flight. The guy serving took forever, didn’t seem to have any decent clean glasses and added his gratuity himself, just offering us a total bill to sign. I would have argued about that but was too tired. The rooms are really big but are rather gloomy and tired and calling out for a refurb. The aircon is old and noisy and seems to have a mind of its own. So it’s maybe not the place for you if you sleep lightly.

"Good stay, a bit noisy."
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed March 31, 2025
Good stay. Staff was helpful but not overly friendly. I arrived early from an early morning flight. The front desk staff was to get me into my room. My only complaint the hotel HVA system was very loud. There was also a lot of traffic noise as well.

"Terrible Service Post Stay"

Reviewed January 21, 2025
Do not stay here!! I went end of December and booked three rooms for two nights and we all paid separately for our rooms but then they charged my for my room plus no shows for the other two rooms when in fact we were all there and paid for them. I have been calling and dealing with their staff and getting the run around. They won’t refund me. It’s a joke!!! I enjoyed my stay but this is crazy that I’m paying all this extra.
