We visited the property multiple times for wedding planning and then had about 35 rooms for wedding September 2025. The property team helped us design the wedding block manage reservations customize menu and many many other requests including logistical issues with guest bookings arrival times and other matters. We chose rooms with coastal view ie on the front side of the property. All services were rendered cheerfully and we would use the hotel again for future family events. Lauren, Malia, Camille, Rosanne, Luis, Rafael, Chris and Robert in food department and all others were all very helpful throughout. Suggestions: Be aware of the backside rooms which we did not choose are overlooking highway ramp. Allow time for breakfast as they don’t have buffet system.

Very poor management. I booked a partial ocean view king room with balcony at a senior rate. We were given a double queen room with a view of a freeway ramp. When I complained I was told we were getting an upgrade and were moved to a room which smelled of sewage and also looked out at the freeway plus breakfast. It was not until the next day that I checked my Hilton Honors account and saw that the desk clerk had attached my number to someone else’s reservation when we checked in and my account showed two reservations. In fact the reservation I made was at a lower rate than we were charged. Someone then realized the desk clerk had put us under another reservation and we moved again to the correct room for our second night. I was actually charged a no show fee for my own reservation (which was then refunded). I have now asked to speak to the manager 3 times but no response. I asked for a full refund for the first night and was given a refund for 50% of the first night in the room which smelled of sewage but that did not make up for the time spent at the desk, our discomfort and the fact we had to lug our luggage all over the hotel 3 times.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Dana Point Doheny Beach. The views and the room itself were very nice, but the service did not meet expectations. At check-in, the experience felt hurried, and questions were not handled with much attention. During my stay, I also encountered a billing issue. The front desk team was unable to resolve it and advised several times that a manager would follow up. Unfortunately, no call ever came. After repeated attempts, I ultimately had to escalate through Diamond Services to get the matter resolved — something I would not have expected to be necessary at this type of property. The setting and accommodations were pleasant, but the lack of follow-through and customer support was disappointing. Until improvements are made on the service side, I would be cautious about recommending this hotel.
