Terrible bellman that chatted while I struggled to get my luggage into the building. This is a coaching opportunity! Bathroom was clearly older and not very clean. The rest of the room was immaculate. But...bathrooms are IMPORTANT! Front desk was helpful at check-in.

The hotel is very close to the beach, but that's the only positive. The front of the building is currently under construction and covered in scaffolding with NO signage letting you know you're at the hotel. The address is 198 E. Delaware, but GPS has you turn onto N. Mies Van Der Rohe Way for valet. Incredibly confusing when the entrance is obstructed and there's no singage. We drove around the block 4 times before I happened to see a valet in a Hilton uniform and realized we were at the right place. Incredibly frustrating after driving almost 5 hours to get to Chicago. The elevators and halls are stuffy and humid- either the HVAC needs replacing or management is skimping on the AC...in July of all months. Our room AC had to be turned down to 65 to be comfortable. Speaking of the room... We paid for a superior lake view suite on the 28th floor. Never have I ever seen such a SHABBY room at a Hilton property. The couch and chair were quite worn and uncomfortable to sit on. The tables were significantly chipped and scratched. The bathroom counter was warped and splintering at the bottom on the side next to the toilet from- I'm assuming- when the toilet was leaking at some point. The sink had a hairline crack. The remote to the bedroom tv was dead, but fortunately the remote from the living room tv worked for both. Bedroom nightstands were also scuffed and chipped. Dingy carpet with black scuff marks on all the baseboards. The decor in general is very outdated- it looks like it's been 20 years since the last remodel. The enclosed roof top pool has lovely views of the city. Too bad it was closed for renovation in the middle of summer. By the way, Hilton, why was it closed but full of water? I hope this property gets it together since the location is prime, but there's plenty of options in the area for next time. I won't stay here again.

Great rooms. The view from the 26th floor is amazing and worth it alone. Rooms were clean, and any requests for linen or something was promptly dealt with. They are having construction done, so there is some noise. They notify you of this and it doesn't last very long. The hotel is in a prime location for any tourist activities. Nicole Herma was extremely helpful and friendly during all my interactions with her. Kudos to her.

We were at the Hilton Magnificent Mile Suites over a hot weekend and it was an absolute disaster. The A/C ran constantly in our room and we still couldn’t get it below 76-80°, which made for a long, uncomfortable stay. The common areas were even worse, terribly hot and stuffy. When we reached out to the front desk, they just told us it was hot outside and the building is historic but they would send someone to look at the A/C. When the engineer arrived and we opened the door to our room, his first words were “Feels cool to me.” Well, of course it feels cooler when you just walked out of a 95° hallway, but that’s no excuse for 80° in the room at a Hilton property. Their only solution: close the blinds. This was supposed to be a special weekend for me and my guest and instead it was a complete disaster. The hotel is historic, but it’s still operating under the Hilton brand in 2025 and it needs to be able to keep its rooms cool. I would not return here.
