"Nice hotel on the waterfront and close to Kennywood, but $$$"

Stayed here ONE night as an overnight to Kennywood from DE. Hotel was just a short drive from the amusement park. Check in was fast and simple. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Indoor pool was decent. Kid enjoyed it for a short swim before bed. Outdoor patio on the riverfront had a nice firepit at night. Appeared they (or someone)had smores there that evening as there were remnants from the event. Breakfast in the morning was included and was pretty good. They had a nice selection of cold and hot foods. We enjoyed the back patio in the morning before we checked out. View of the river was beautiful. Too bad we couldn't get a riverview room when booking. Our view was more of a parking lot view, but at least they offered a nice shared patio out back for all guests to use. Overall, a decent stay within a short drive of Kennywood. Only real downside was the price. I found it rather expensive $$$.

"Substandard Hampton Inn "

Building is a normal Hampton Inn and sits on the Allegheny River. However, it is very understaffed, desk clerk was only employee and people were waiting 1/2 hour to check in. No one was servicing the breakfast area and the hotel was housing welfare people.

Hilton does not prompt for guests’ comments after every stay plus it’s overly complicated to find and submit the online feedback form. Common area is clean and inviting, like all Hampton Inns. Based on the floor plan and hotel map, I chose a room specifically to accommodate my disabilities and checked in on the app. However, when we arrived, the room had already been given to another guest. Because I am a Diamond, “CJ” at the front desk was able to upgrade my room. AMAZING VIEW! More and better than I imagined!

"Dirty and no one seemed interested"

We picked this hotel for the location. In town visiting our daughter. When we checked in at the front desk, the attendant deemed it necessary to tell us that he had a bad toothache. TMI, dude. When we checked into our room, we noticed that the toilet paper holder was broken , as was one of the dispensers on the back wall of the shower. Upon further inspection, we noticed black hair all over the bathroom- in the tub, the sink and all over the floor. It being a Steelers home game weekend, we figured the place was full and we were too exhausted to go back down to the front desk to ask to be moved. There was also black hair on the bedding and the heater unit intake vents were absolutely filthy. The bed was comfortable and the tv worked fine. In the morning after I washed down the shower, I noticed that the water pressure was very low. At checkout the guy at the front desk seemed to brush off our concerns, saying that there was nothing he could do. All the items I mentioned are easy fixes and should be addressed asap.

Great location, well appointed room and pleasant staff. The gentlemen that ran the breakfast area was very kind and genuine. Only small issue was the cleanliness of the bathtub which hair hairs stuck to the floor of the tub. Right across from village / shopping mall and entertainment district.
