Grand Beach Hotel Surfside in Miami Beach , FL

Fantastic trip and a great hotel! Etty in the restaurant was the best! She goes beyond the call of duty and truly made our stay wonderful!

Etty from the restaurant in the lobby is so welcoming and friendly it was a pleasure to have that experience every morning. She is amazing and I hope the restaurant takes notice of her excellent service : )

This might be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. 2 days and no one has cleaned my room. I have asked and called four times. I just got back for night two and it is still not cleaned 800$ a night ? Utter disgrace.

We visited the GBH Surfside Jan 16-20 2026. The staff was friendly but we were not offered any of the welcome perks upon arrival. Our room was fine but not great. The main shower had hair left in the drain and the cabinet door to our refrigerator was broken. Also the AC only blew out of the vent in the bedroom so we had to prop the door open to cool the entire unit. However the real issues began on our second night. They were overbooked and didn’t have enough staff to clean the rooms daily. We had our three children with us so I went to the desk to ask for maid service around 4:30pm. They told me housekeepers were done around 6 or 6:30 and couldn’t guarantee our room would be cleaned but they would at least make sure towels and coffee were replenished. No one showed up. We had to go get towels ourselves once we returned from dinner. Third night had to ask for towels again. And track down someone to get coffee for the room. At that point we walked across the street to talk to a manager (had to go across the street because our front desk person left early that day and there was no one there). We talked to a manager about the concerns I listed about and a few other minimal issues. We asked for a one night refund. She told us she could not accommodate that because we booked through a third party so the “hotels hands were tied” but that we could go to that vendor who “had our money” and ask them for a refund. She said she was taking notes on our concerns so that she could relay that information once they hear from the third party for approval. Now the hotel is saying they never said any of that and just want to offer a discount on a future stay. So all in all, the rooms were not up to par, concerns were not addressed, excuses were given that “they are fully booked and we don’t have time to get to everyone” the management staff was misleading and overall I would not recommend this hotel. The only positive I can leave is that the staff on the beach setting up chairs and umbrellas were stellar.
