"Great Time in Maui"

We recently spent 4 nights at the Four Seasons Maui. It was a truly special and awesome experience. As with any higher end property in Hawaii, it is not an inexpensive trip. That said, I have never been treated better anywhere. If you are looking for a very memorable trip, this is the place. We ate at Duo, Ferraro's and Spago. All were excellent, but I would say Ferraro's was our favorite. Service was so good and every detail was perfect. The beach is the best.. spent every day there and hated to leave. It would be nice if service on the beach is possible, but that is not allowed. Beach crew was attentive and quick to help or give suggestions. Its a short walk to the Shops at Wailea, and there is lots to do nearby. You dont need to rent a car unless you want to travel around Maui. The Wailea beach walk is a big highlight.. always great. I have been elite level at one time or another on Marriot, Hilton and Hyatt, but I have never had a first class experience all the way around. No complaints, this place is awesome and we will be back!

"Great honeymoon, come for pool & not beach"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

We are still here but have had the best time on our honeymoon! The staff here is very exceptional (minus a few who luckily we didn’t have to interact with much). Spent 90% of our time at the adult pool. As others have mentioned, the adults only pool is intentionally small & exclusive. You need to get there before 7 am most days. I ranged from 550am- 630am. Depending on the day I was the second person in line, or a few more deep. You can sit though, which is nice. I ended up just doing work since the WiFi in the hotel stretched to this area. The views are absolutely insane from it and it’s well worth it. I think being small & exclusive allows it to be a relaxing experience versus the larger kid friendly pool which is pure chaos (and bad views!). I also find the beach to be pretty meh. If you are a “beach” person who is looking purely for a beach vacation I don’t know if this resort is for you. It’s a bit strange because there’s no service on the beach because Maui beaches require no booze, but they also just don’t serve food which is odd. The adult pool has full bar & food service. Fantastic staff at adult pool: -Shayne (who is truly one of the most hardworking & kind people I’ve ever met!). -Kimmie (morning manager - very personable and structured. I like how she manages the pool area & staff). -Brielle (very hard worker and nice!) -Max (super friendly guy!) I thought concierge team was extremely nice as well. Ferraros: Trent was an exceptional waiter. Our fave restaurant on resort. Spago was okay. The food is decent. It’s weird - even though we stayed here I booked through open table and they wouldn’t let me get a good view. We were sat twice in the “public” section (which became obvious because no one had wrist bands). Nbd, we met some nice folks, but to pay a huge price to not get a nicer seat at least once is a little odd. I think moving forward I will book restaurants through the hotel since they don’t bother to look. Overall, don’t come to Hawaii for the food I’d say. I really loved the views, how peaceful & special Hawaii is, amongst other things.

"Beautiful Stay in Wailea – Truly Five-Star Service"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed May 11, 2025 NEW
We are currently staying at the Four Seasons in Maui and the experience has been great so far. Despite some reviews saying the resort feels dated or overcrowded, we’re finding it peaceful, elegant, and well maintained. It strikes the perfect balance between laid-back luxury and family-friendly comfort. The Wailea location is breathtaking — panoramic ocean views and direct access to a stunning beach. Our room is spacious, quiet, and very comfortable — it truly feels like a private retreat. We’re a married couple who tends to get up early, so we’ve had no trouble finding seating at the adult pool each morning. The limited number of chairs actually works well — it keeps the atmosphere calm and exclusive, just as it should be. So if you can’t get a chair at the adult pool, that’s because of the serene feel they intentionally preserve and there are plenty of chairs at the general use pool. While some reviews mention pricing of the food, we’ve found it reasonable compared to other 5-star resorts in the area. You’re not just getting a meal — it’s a full culinary experience with great service. And the service truly stands out. Even the smallest concern — in our case, a minor mix-up with the hostess — was handled right away by management, with attention and professionalism. Their responsiveness and care really make a difference. This resort is delivering on every level: impeccable service, stunning surroundings, and a truly relaxing experience.

"Five Stars"

Five Stars. Rooms were wonderful and luxurious. Service was top notch. Food was delicious. Views and pools were amazing. Yes the adult pool is crowded (but get a seat downstairs at the fountain pool and venture up to the adult pool for a few hours - it gets windy and cold up there when the trade winds blow through in the afternoon). Yes there were some corporate events (but if that ruins your stay in beautiful Maui you’ve got bigger problems). Get a coco-crush at the bar at Ferraros, a smash burger poolside, book an outrigger (it’s free except for tip), and don’t sleep on the music stations in the bathroom! Excellent stay ! Can’t wait to go back!

"Never again"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

A very disappointing visit. We’ve been to this property 3 times in the past 10 years. The first two were great, we’ll likely never return. The grounds are still beautiful. A little run down but naturally beautiful. The service isn’t the same. The pool scene is a disaster. The adult pool requires someone to stand in a line that begins at 5:30am to reserve a chair for the day. Not an ideal morning on vacation. If not, there’s little to no chance of spending time there. Rule that option out first thing every morning. The other pool is not for anyone without young kids. There’s wet towels all over the place and it seems really, really dirty. Great for kids, but an overcrowded kindergarten class for everyone else. The gym is a makeshift area with very basic equipment. It’s kind of outside so it’s humid as can be. The food isn’t great anywhere and the guest room was fine. All in all, this place isn’t what it was. The experience matched with the price just doesn’t add up. Never again for us. This is a basic hotel with a good view.
