Description

from Everglades National Park Wildlife & Beach Expedition
This Everglades National Park Expedition is a two-part, naturalist led experience - a boating tour of the 10,000 Islands in Everglades National Park and a leisurely walk on a remote barrier island.

Take pleasure in a calm, leisurely boat trip of the Ten Thousand Islands coastal ecosystem as your naturalist tour guide is on the hunt for all types of wildlife. Every day is unique, as are the tours. Depending on the time of year and the weather, you might see dolphins, manatees, roseate spoonbills, pelicans, ospreys, eagles, ibis, herons, egrets, a large number of sea and shore birds, sea turtles, and other saltwater animals.

After the boating tour and as conditions allow, your captain will take you on an interpretive stroll along one of the Park's several barrier-island beaches. Because these isolated islands can only be reached by boat, very few individuals have ever set foot where you will go.

The entire family will enjoy this outstanding educational opportunity in the Everglades Region from young children to grandparents. It is a specialized, interactive eco-adventure with a maximum of six guests. Every day in the Everglades' 10,000 Islands is unique, so an effort is made to be adaptable and dynamic. A little birdwatching, some photography, a stroll through tidal pools on a deserted beach, and an exploration of one of the 10,000 Islands may all be included in the excursion.

A guided boating eco-tour looking for dolphins, manatees, and other animals makes up the first part of the trip. The second activity is an interactive, guided walk where participants can explore beaches, tide pools, and intertidal zones on a far-off barrier island.

The naturalists will assist you in serving as the instructor if you are a parent or grandparent who wants to take an active position in education.
