Stayed in the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite which was very spacious. The front desk was helpful, valet very prompt, and breakfast servers very kind. Extremely clean hotel, looked modern and updated, quiet (could not hear hallway noise), loved having Starbucks in the hotel. Central location 1 block from the marina. Rented bikes across the street which was an excellent way to see the city (extremely bike-friendly). There is construction happening on the building next door, but it did not bother me and I found it interesting to watch :)

"Room advertised as accessible but it was not."

The room is advertised as accessible but it is not fully accessible. While it has a roll in shower, there are no bars beside the toilet seat and it's very difficult to get a wheelchair in front of the sink. I would not advise anyone that needs a wheelchair accessible bathroom to book this hotel. Hilton should not use the word accessible if the room is not fully accessible. The shower didn't have a seat. I had to ask for one and the seat they gave me was so bad I had to ask for another one that doesn't fall over. We could not reach the sink when sitting in the wheelchair. Very disappointing. The hotel gave me free valet parking as compensation for not being able to really use the sink and for needing a lot of help to get on the toilet.

I have stayed at various Hiltons in Canada, US, and Asia for over 15 years. My stay at the Hilton in Victoria, BC was my first stay. I arrived around close to 3 pm and thought I would check in if possible, or leave my luggage, as check-in is often at 4 pm. Most Hiltons will allow guests to check in earlier, as I have experienced at other Hiltons. When I arrived, there were 4 staff behind the counter. A blonde-haired female staff was serving a family and told me to go to the next staff desk to check-in. I moved over, but the male staff proceeded to serve two other women, and another female staff was explaining something to him. Maybe he was in training. So, I waited, and then the blonde-haired staff called me back to her counter. I mention my reservation and she tells me, “We are fully booked.” I never asked if they were fully booked. She proceeded to inform me, “Your room is not ready, your room is on the 2nd floor.” I said, “I don’t want near the elevator. She tells me, “It is near the elevator.” What is the point of asking guests to list on Hilton membership what they want, when it cannot provide basic services? I informed her this was booked months ago. Finally, after checking me in, she informs me, “We will text you once the room is ready. I remark this check-in is like a musical chair. I went for a walk and at 4 pm, I check my phone, and there is no text from Hilton. I returned to Hilton and got my key, and my luggage, and no cookie. The room 203, second floor, is tiny. It is not for a large person as you can see in the photo how squeezed the washroom is. No bathtub. Yes, you can hear traffic on the road. On day 2, I call the front desk for complimentary water bottles. I was informed there is a cost. I responded, “But other Hiltons I stayed at provide complimentary bottled water.” To which he replied, “sure, we will send up 2 bottles.” When I ordered breakfast room service, in the breakfast receipt there is a “delivery fees” and a “service charge.” But in my final hotel receipt, the service charge is termed as “Room Service Tips.” Why the discrepancy? But also odd, when the staff brought my breakfast, the staff asked me “Do you want to carry your tray into the room.” I carried my tray onto the table versus having to deal with more of this very bizarre room service. The nicest, courteous, and service with a smile is Jeff the valet. He is amazing!! In summary after my experience at this Hilton, I will not ever return to this Hilton or recommend it.
