DoubleTree by Hilton Ocean Point Resort in North Miami Beach, FL

As soon as I checked was on my way up to my room 1102 and the doors of the elevator closed and it didn’t move🥴. It wouldn’t respond to any buttons I pushed and the call button just kept ringing. I was in the elevator by myself for ten minutes edema like an eternity. I pulled the doors open by myself and security was standing there looking surprised. The elevator was stuck in between floors. I had to jump out with my luggage😩. Security immediately apologized. Yolene front desk attendant was so nice even brought up a gift basket to the room. She definitely get the highest customer service award. The entire weekend I wouldn’t use elevator #2 fixed or not 🤣 Last picture is how I felt when jumping out of the elevator 😎

My family just returned having stayed at this Double Tree/Hilton. I reserved two rooms (one single and 1- two room suite). We arrived early and were unable to get checked in early. We were afforded access to the pool and beach. They allowed us to have two beach chairs per room as well as towels for my family. The chairs were on the beach with an umbrella we believed was included. Surprise, the umbrella was an additional $28. We continued to check with the desk to see if the rooms were available. We were given one room with the assurance that the second (single room) would be available soon. My family went to what we believed was the suit to discover a single room that appeared to be a hospital room: stark white, two beds, night stand, single lamp, TV etc. In the kitchenette was a coffee maker. No drinking glasses, no ice bucket or water. There was missing base boards, worn, torn furniture, cracked tiles, a missing mirror on the back of the bathroom door, drawers that would not shut and a refrigerator unprofessionally installed in a mismatched cabinet. At dark, I discovered there is no overhead light and the lone table lamp providing light for the room and kitchenette. There was much confusion regarding the rooms, payment, multiple personnel involved, card keys and getting everything worked out. Stressful with a family of 7. Once in the suite, it was worn, dirty couch and worn, torn furniture. I called to get drinking glasses and ice. The lovely housekeeping staff brought that to me after two calls. They also brought a crib upon request. The views were incredible and the beach had minimal sea weed. I think it is called sargasso seaweed? It is puzzling that this hotel shares the Hilton name. Minimal resources on premise. I paid almost 900 for a one night stay: federal, county and city taxes, resort fee, Sigh In reviewing the reviews from 2003 it is mixed based on the clients. It would be a great hotel for the partying crowd. I’m sure the staff doesn’t care but we won’t be returning and I will certainly do a better job of research when I see a hotel with the associated Hilton brand.

Overnight, the bathroom would leak a sewage smell from the toilet and sink. We would shut the toilet seat, close the drain in the sink, and still smell the sewage smell. Told the front desk about the issue and they sent someone to “unclog” a toilet…that was all they could do for us. Extremely dissatisfied with our “luxury” stay in the smell room.

I am a common traveller and visit Miami A few times a year . This is first time E at double tree by Hilton . I was appalled by the worst ever service at the beach service , they go out of their way to extort money from you and charge extra $$ for beach beds and umbrellas , even though the beds are supposed to be included in the stay. Expect to pay $70 extra per day for 2 beds and umbrella . But the worst is them being rude and their attitude was obnoxious .
