I’m starting to lose trust in branded hotels like Hilton and DoubleTree. It seems like either the heater works or the water cooling works, but never both—it’s crazy! One day the cooling didn’t work, so we just dealt with it. Then they moved us to another room where only the heater worked.

I hate writing reviews like this, but this was a terrible hotel to stay at. The staff was fine enough I guess, however the hotel, the rooms, and the halls were all disgusting. There were stains on the "fresh" sheets, multiple spots on the carpet in the corner suite that were matted and sticky with who knows what, and the tile on the shower floor was slimy to the touch. When the issue was brought up with the front desk they told me "we'll have house keeping look into it" and nothing was done. The train track right outside the hotel was loud at all hours of the day and night when ever a train would pass through. Overall I will never even consider staying at this hotel again, and will strongly advise everyone reading this to do the same. Avoid this hotel.

Poor service A solid 2.5 The actual hotel was nice but the staff were not too much Valet staff were kind and accommodating The front desk staff were not very nice i understand everyone has bad days but you work front desk I am a gold member and have stayed at hotels within the US and international and never have I had staff deny access to towels there were 4 of us in the room we asked for extra sets of towels because we do not use the same towel for our face and body.. we also asked for 2 extra glasses for a total of 4 and staff were reluctant... Idk if they thought we would steal the towels but it was outrageous I have never experienced that before Then my friend called and requested late check out and was told they reached their max for late check out for the day .. but when I went to the front desk they were able to accommodate (weird) I understand the room upgrade is based on availability and we were told they were sold out. There may have been an event taking place but I find it hard to believe there are that many ppl visiting Modesto 😕 🙄 And breakfast is free for children under 5 $17 for adults Starbucks coffee ~4/5 a cup I was shocked because it was identical to the complimentary breakfast at IHG Holiday Inn hotels. Yes, the $15 pp. room credit would have covered it but the quality wasn't worth it.. the under 5 y/o loved it though so that was nice. Breakfast staff were very kind The bar opens at 4PM and im sure this is normal but I wanted a mimosa at 9AM im assuming thats not normal 😮‍💨🤣 again the actual room was nice.. Valley parking $17 a day self-park park $12 and the parking garage is across the street I always feel paid hotel parking is a scam not to mention the stay was ~250/night for 2 queen beds that looked like full The cleaning staff were also kind as well They had cookies 🍪 and more paid coffee In the lobby which also dispenses hot water

Part of 26 group on coach tour. 6 of us went to the restaurant for dinner. Standard of dress for the waiter was a scruffy T shirt, When asked for the drinks menu he said we have everything and didn’t produce a wine least, so we had to guess. Food was acceptable but the guy was rushed off his feet. I complained to the front desk but they didn’t seem interested and said that they weren’t expecting to be that busy even though they had a 75 birthday party going on in the function room. With a party and coach group the organisation was pretty poor.
