Starting with the positives, the front desk staff was friendly, the price was good, the ocean front view was nice, balcony was private. Liked having a full size fridge. Room was relatively clean but worn out. Seemed to be furniture missing based on pictures online (like a chair/loveseat), and walls bare just one framed print, so lacked any cozy feel. Toilet ran constantly and didn’t flush half of time. Sink water smelled fishy, luckily shower and kitchen water was ok. Shower water pressure poor and did not get very warm. Room safe did not work or lock. TV had no instructions and could not figure out how to work it until accidentally the last day. AC did keep room cool but was clunky and loud- thought it was going to stop working. Bed was very firm, did not sleep well whole time there. Room was super damp- bedding, food, even our unworn clothes ended up damp. Parking is very tight and fills quick. Had to park in overflow deck across street which had slightly more room between cars. Stairwell was dark and dirty in that parking deck though. Hallways at the main hotel building were also dark and sketchy. Used lazy river and hot tub, lazy river small but nice, hot tub ok, seemed little dirty. There is a main pool, and other pools at the property we did not use. Overall it seemed to be a typical beach property that has seen better days - could be worse but could be a lot better so unfortunately we will try a new place next time in MB SC.

"ITS GHETTO, RUN AWAY"

Save your money and take it elsewhere! Is ghetto over here! The rooms, elevators and hall on the ground floor all smell like piss! It’s disgusting! Their system was down so they gave out master keys that did not work! We had to walk back across the street and they said that they’d have to send maintenance to open it for us. Maintenance will have to open the door for us every time we come back until their system is back up. EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT because their phones were busy so couldn’t just call. The fridge, and oven are dirty. I wouldn’t trust these beds! Paid for an ocean view, this is definitely a PARTIAL view! Would be leaving this place if I could get a refund. Might just take the L and book elsewhere because this urine smell is nauseating and toxic. Move along and find another place!!! The San Dunes is a nice place
