A comfortable desk and seating area are also featured in all rooms at the hotel. Select rooms offer balconies or patios with ocean views.

Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Chandler’s Restaurant & Lounge is located on-site at Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach. The restaurant offers a menu inspired by locally grown fresh products and features signature cocktails. For convenience, an on-site fitness center and a business center with fax and photocopying services are available at the hotel.

LEGOLAND and Carlsbad Premium Outlets are within five miles of the resort and conveniently accessed by the shuttle service. San Diego Zoo and San Diego International Airport are less than 40 minutes’ drive from this hotel.

We spent a night at the Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach resort and had a good experience. We had on the ocean view rooms and could see the water and occasionally the surf. The room was modern and well maintained. We spent some time at the pool and walked down to the ocean twice. The location is unique, across Pacific Coast Highway from a state campground that is on the bluff over the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout.

This resort is lovely. It’s across the street from the beach. The pool area is great. The option to have the shuttle take you to the beach with a beach butler was wonderful as was the option to borrow a bike to take a ride. The staff is friendly and I was able to work and spend time with my kids on a last minute vacation before school starts. I would come back here again- but do note you need to have a car or uber if you want to go places as we rode 4 miles on the bikes for ice cream.

Only one complaint! Guests should receive more than 1 chip to give to employees for recognition. I have many employees I want to recognize! We had 2 rooms so had 2 chips… I gave those to Jill in The Chandler ( amazing waitress!) and Deb’s at front desk ( SO welcoming and friendly!). I would also like management to know that Ryan at the Valet set a great tone upon our arrival as did Steve. Sean st the front desk was great… patient and very accommodating. Michelle at the front desk was also exceptional. I wish we had all the names of staff out at the pool.
