Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza Hotel in West Hollywood, CA

The hotel is excellent for a number of reasons including, location, very comfortable and large bedrooms, very helpful staff, good and fresh decoration, swimming pool and quality of sun loungers. The area feels very safe and I was happy to walk around the area including the residential streets. There is nothing to complain about here. Remember Hollywood is hilly so it’s easy to walk to Santa Monica Blvd but a bit of a climb coming back but if you’re reasonably fits it fine.

I have stayed at the best Western Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles many times and I am never disappointed. This visit was great just like all others the breakfast foods were hot it’s a clean hotel and it has a beautiful elegant boutique feel riding in West Hollywood location fabulous the staff is wonderful

We stayed at The Best Western Plus on Sunset for a fortnight not just a night or two. The hotel is very clean with a Vintage Hollywood vibe. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and there was always someone on reception. As three adults, we stayed in a Queen room. Beds were very comfortable and the room was huge, far bigger than other US hotel rooms. The bathroom was also spacey with a walk in shower. Air conditioning was good. We also had a lovely view over the pool. As is normal with American hotels, we had to request housekeeping which we did every 3 days. It was always completed quickly and to a high standard. The pool itself was very pretty and never had more than 2-3 people using it so we enjoyed it quite a few times. Breakfast is busy but not once did we have to eat by the pool or in our room. Usually by the time we had picked our breakfast items, a table had become free. Breakfast is excellent value with a, wide choice of food including cereal, yogurts, bakery items (bread, pastries,muffins, crumpets) cooked food (egg, sausage, ham etc), fruit and waffles made to order. Also juice and tea /coffee available. Self service. The paper plates and cutlery were fine to use but I noticed china plates available too. We used the laundry which was spotless. We never encountered anybody else using it. I think it cost around 10 dollars for powder and the washer and dryer. Well worth it. The hotel is situated in a great spot with lots of restaurants on the doorstep. We recommend Saddle Ranch (directly opposite) Carneys, ( a couple of minutes walk away) Joe's Pizza (a couple of minutes in the other direction) , Mel's Diner and of course, the amazing Rainbow Bar and Grill. If you can get to an In N Out burger a short taxi ride away we 100% recommend it. They are absolutely a cut above McDonald's etc. There is a shop called The Pink Dot about five minutes walk away. It is open late and sells everything from snacks and toiletries to hot food. There is also a cvs (2 in fact ) and other shops a short walk further up Sunset or a steep walk down LA Cienega. It's very safe in WeHo. We used Uber or Lyft to get around which is expected as you can't walk to any attractions in LA. A great reliable, safe service and well worth the money for comfort and security. Lots of fantastic places we could recommend but definitely visit The Observatory, Santa Monica/Venice and Hermosa Beach. It's a beautiful area The Magic and Comedy Club there is brilliant but you must book in advance. We saw Jay Leno who was great. Also book Jonny Dams Rock and Walk Tour, you won't regret it!

Bad smell throughout the hotel,breakfast area not suitable to accommodate the customers, with poor overcooked and in some cases undercooked food,while serving on plastic plates,cups and cutlery. As there is insufficient space for people to sit and eat breakfast the only options are to take it back to your room or go down two floors to the pool area,neither are great options with plastic plates. Rooms are ok,bed was comfortable ,lamp had the wiring hanging out which could be lethal for a child. Fire alarm went off at 12.30am ,so we phoned the receptionist, who told us to turn it off and someone will have a look at it in morning, no questions asked as to whether or not there was any smoke ,fire or any real threat. Fire alarm in the room opposite us went off the next morning. When leaving we asked receptionist for a luggage trolley, thinking they say we'll send a Porter down, instead the receptionist pointed to outside the front door and said,there should be one outside,this hotel unfortunately is below par and should you choose to stay here don't expect to much. Location wise ,you need to use taxis which are expensive and there's not much around this area shops and food wise,compared to most hotels I've stayed at.

Came to stay here because it’s close to Cedar Senai (family member is a patient there) & saw the good reviews. Arrived super tired with my baby & was greeted by Agusto & Albert at the front desk who were not only very nice, respectful, knowledgeable but extremely helpful. Informed me about what was around the area, the amenities & even helped me with my stroller & bag. First time staying at this hotel & will definitely be booking here in the future! Rooms are clean, staff is great- 10/10 !
