Worst experience I ever had in a hotel. I stay here often, and for them to not let guests know that there would be construction is beyond me. I got yelled at by a construction worker for trying to get to my room, I’ve had to dodge ladders all week, rubble, dust, and tools. One worker was waving around a hammer in the air while I had to walk under his ladder. Really not safe AT ALL. It’s a COMPLETE construction site. The hotel should be closed. The rates are the same as they usually are. Lastly, I work nights, which means I need to sleep during the day. Not one hour of sleep as the construction was SO LOUD all day. Started at 8am and they would leave their mess around my room and pile stuff up on my windowsill. Rubble everywhere. So unprofessional and this hotel acts like the guests are the burden during this time. Such a shame and I am genuinely shocked. Never again.

After arriving late due to a delayed flight we were met with a sullen, disinterested night manager who, when they couldn't find our friend's booking, suggested they perhaps were booked into a motel elsewhere (implying perhaps they weren't affluent enough to stay at this Best Western ?) Once the booking was found we proceeded to our rooms. There was a strange smell in the lobby and hallways which got even worse in our room. We later discovered that this smell may be explained by the presence of Formaldehyde in soft furnishings, wall coverings and furniture. After opening the balcony door to let in some air (the air con didn't work) I closed it only to find it didn't lock. We reported this to the lacklustre manager who said, and I quote, "You're three storeys up, what are you expecting to happen?" Our room was by an open (because the Aircon wasn't working) door in the corridor leading to steps down to the pool/ patio area. We insisted that the room wasn't secure and he offered us a smaller, even smellier, room. We were so tired at this stage that we took it, on the basis that we would change again in the morning. We were further informed that the pool area was closed for refurbishment. Having booked our stay in January we were surprised not to have been informed of this as we would have booked alternative accommodation. The manager said our travel agent had been informed but we have been shown no evidence of this. Morning came and the noise from the construction work around the pool was extreme. The corridors were filthy with dust and there was no demarcation between the construction zone and the guests. Furthermore the dining room cutlery was plastic and the plates were paper. I don't feel this is an acceptable standard for either our expectations and the price paid. We immediately moved across the road to the far superior, cleaner Andaz hotel more suited to accommodating human beings. I don't understand why anyone rates this hotel at all. It barely deserves the one star I've given and I sincerely hope Best Western read this and recognise how badly they failed this party of four.

Usually don’t review, but I wanted to let everyone know what a great staff and Location this hotel is every person from the dayshift and the night shift. Both on the weekends are weekdays was awesome. Nikki at the front desk was awesome and everyone just made the experience very memorable here. It’s a great location. The hotel is under construction, but the location and the kind staff more than makes up for it.
