"Great stay, comfortable and convenient"

I had a really good stay at BEI San Francisco. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable throughout my visit. One thing that could improve the experience is adding a breakfast option at the hotel. The gym was decent as well, though it could benefit from a few more machines. The location worked well for me. There are plenty of good places to eat nearby along with convenience stores, which made things easy. A special mention to the concierge and mail room team. I had quite a few packages delivered during my stay and they handled everything smoothly and professionally. I had read some concerns about safety in the area, especially regarding walking around at night, but that wasn’t my experience at all. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again.

- One night, there was a approved party in the building for a cultural festival. Music was so loud, it could be heard in the room. Hundreds of attendees who were covered in colorful powder which can stain your clothes if they brushed against you in passing. I would know- my jacket was stained by one of these people. - One elevator out of 4 was working the entire time. Wait times to get on the elevator would take forever. - One of these front desk agents was extremely rude. Gave very short responses to my questions and was not friendly at all. - The was a roach in my room’s closet on the wall. I killed it, but where there’s one, there’s thousands hiding out. Had to shake my luggage vigorously to ensure I wasn’t bringing critters home with me. - No refrigerator in the room. - Location was great. Walked almost everywhere and the BART station was a block away. - TV did not work for casting streams from devices - Very basic, no frills room. Spacious.

Excellent location walking to our Orpheum theatre venue & #1 bakery in USA (Arsicault) & delicious Ethiopian restaurant (Moya) Onsite covered parking $55 w in & out privilege Very minimalist room decor Keurig in room, no fridge but microwave in hallway next to ice machine & hot/chilled water dispenser Very easy access to freeway Others criticized cleanliness & I did note housekeeper forgot to wipe around shower spigot at wall connection, but otherwise I had no issues w overall room cleanliness. Comfortable bed & linens Vending machine w lots of toiletries in lobby Not luxurious but comfy, good price for area & would stay again due to excellent location Standard 12 noon checkout is also a plus

Very dirty, lots of add on charges, and was surprised the room did not have microwave or fridge. (Add on charges). Staff was friendly, parking was available and greatly appreciated in downtown for our event. Basic needs were met but not anything extra.

"Frustrated"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed January 03, 2026
This was the most frustrating stay I have ever had at this hotel. I attempted to call the front desk to request a late checkout, as I am a Gold member, but no one answered the phone. I had to go downstairs to the front lobby to make the request in person. I was disappointed that the front desk associate immediately stated there would be a $50 fee for a late checkout without first asking about my membership status. Additionally, housekeeping entered my room twice despite my approved late checkout. This indicates a lack of communication between management and housekeeping regarding my room status. Overall, these issues made my stay unpleasant.
