"A Beautiful Stay Made Memorable by Thoughtful Service"

We were truly disappointed to have to end our stay earlier than anticipated due to a family emergency back home. We genuinely loved our time at the resort and were grateful for the experience during what became an unexpected and emotional trip. Please extend our sincere thanks to Ashley for her assistance in waiving the early departure fee and ensuring the points were returned to my Hyatt account. That level of care and responsiveness does not go unnoticed. We also deeply appreciated the room upgrade and the thoughtful anniversary gift — those touches made our stay feel special. 🌺 Having worked in hospitality for ten years as a Director of Sales, I understand the complexity of operations and the importance of guest experience. Your team delivered exceptional service. If we return to Maui in the future, we would absolutely consider staying again. However, with Hyatt’s recent increase in point redemptions, it may make future stays more difficult to justify from a loyalty standpoint. I also own a travel agency and take pride in making thoughtful recommendations to my clients, friends, and family. Additionally, my husband is a Marine — something I am incredibly proud of — and we value organizations that operate with integrity and service at the forefront. Based on the service we received, I would be confident recommending your property. As constructive feedback, I would encourage greater visible engagement from the General Manager on property. Leadership presence can meaningfully elevate the guest experience and reinforces the culture of hospitality from the top down. Thank you again for your professionalism and care during a challenging moment for our family. We are grateful. 🌊

Ocean view room was more in line with partial ocean view. You could constantly hear other guests in our room, including being woken up before sunrise every day. I did not receive hyatt points for any spending on property.

"Gorgeous resort with a couple of opportunities"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

We stayed for five nights in February 2026. Overall, a lovely experience, with a couple of opportunities. The room (we were in a partial view suite) was lovely. The 'partial' view was still exceptional! The room was completely clean. Housekeeping was twice daily (hugely appreciated) and did a wonderful job. The room was in great condition. The water pressure in the shower was wonderful. Our accommodations, which were near the "tranquil pool," were very quiet. The hotel is in an absolutely gorgeous location in Wailea. The hotel is connected to multiple other nearby resorts on a stunning oceanfront trail that was lovely for a morning or evening walk or run. Along this trail are several public beaches, all of which are pretty. The beach immediately in front of the hotel is gorgeous (and comes with chairs and umbrellas), and it connects to other beaches that also made for a perfect long walk/run. The hotel's public areas are also fantastic. The pool complex (a series of cascading pools) was lovely. In addition to the main pool complex, there is a small "tranquil pool" for adults only that was a great, quiet setting for relaxing and reading. The lobby is pretty (with a particularly stunning entrance) and there are lots of little books for reading. There are multiple places to eat and drink at the hotel. As expected, these were expensive. However, the establishments had appealing menus, and the food and drinks were tasty. Service was good to excellent. Most staff members were very friendly and working hard. I think the hotel has an opportunity to make the poolside service slightly more attentive/frequent, though this was a small issue. Service at the main bar overlooking the pools was consistently excellent. There is an opportunity for more consistency in policy. For example, hotel documents indicated Hyatt Globalists received a 15 percent discount on non-alcoholic food and beverage spend. This was inconsistently applied by staff (for example, one bartender made a big deal of applying it to a mocktail; another didn't apply it). We had the van take us to a couple of nearby resorts for dinner. This is a complimentary service, which is nice. However, on one of the nights we used the van, we forgot to bring cash to tip the driver. When the same driver picked us up after dinner, he was incredibly rude, obviously upset about not being tipped. We took care of him after accessing cash at the Andaz's ATM, but I thought his rudeness was unprofessional. And if the hotel expects guests to tip, in the modern age where guests do not often carry cash, a non-cash tip option would be convenient. I would say the hotel has two major opportunities. The first is the valet. That was the only place where service professionalism was not consistent. In addition, the process was unclear/inconsistent. As instructed, we always called in advance for our car. Over half the time, the request had not been conveyed to valet staff. On one evening, we waited nearly 40 minutes for our car to be retrieved, causing us to miss a dinner reservation offsite. The second is breakfast. The breakfast buffet itself is exceptional -- wide variety, lovely presentation, nice mix of indulgent and healthy. However, reservations for breakfast are not taken, and lines were long (often 20 minutes plus). It seems a reservation or even texting system would be better--or an expansion of the available space for breakfast. At over $100 for two, the wait time was annoying and not aligned with the otherwise peaceful atmosphere of the resort. The hotel was in a good spot for exploring Maui. Wailea has a couple of (walkable) shopping centers with good food/coffee options. We also explored much of the island and found the Andaz a good spot. So that's the full review. Opportunities aside, it was overall a lovely property and a great few days in Hawaii. I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.

"Andaz has gone downhill over the past 6 years"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

Sadly, our last time at this hotel. We've been probably 5 or 6 times in total now. But over the years, the price has gone UP UP UP and the service has gone down. The rooms are looking shabby. The beds are uncomfortable. The pillows felt like little rocks. No one greeted us at valet when we drove in. Check in was fine however it took over an hour for our bags to arrive at our room. There were never any pool chairs available as everyone put towels down at 8am and then left them there all day. The towels we did get had holes in them. We once asked for a pick up after going to dinner at the Four Seasons restaurant as resort pick ups were encouraged. We were told it would be 40 minutes for a pick up. Apparently the valet staff had a party the night before and were hung over. Thankfully the Four Seasons drove us and another Andaz couple home in their courtesy van. Line ups at breakfast were long and the quality of food was poor. Basically I'd rate this a 4 star hotel at best -maybe 3. Not worth the price. If I'm paying well over $1k per night to stay somewhere, I'd actually rather pay a slightly higher amount and stay somewhere worth it like the Four Seasons -where I actually did stay in Oahu and Lanai on the same trip.....and while they were more expensive; they were also worth it. Not a motel pretending to be a 5-star hotel.
