We arrived for our first time in Tampa and as a Marriott Gold member with high floor stated on my profile was given an “upgraded” 2nd floor room overlooking the street. To make up for it, I asked for valet to be comped and they did. Free danish too

Never had an experience like this before. Check out time is 11 am at the Aloft Downtown in Tampa . Needing a little extra time to check out I went to the front desk at approximately 10:05 am and asked if we could have an extra hour for check out. The gentleman at the counter looked at the computer and said that would not be a problem. Easy enough. Unfortunately at 11:00 am the cleaning person knocked on the door. We told her we had been given an extra hour for check out. She continued to say we had to get out. She left for a few minutes and came back pounding on the door and insisting we had to get out. Again I opened door slightly to speak with her and explained we had gone to the front desk earlier and got an extension. She said no you have to leave now and walked into room and became argumentative stating we had to go. I was in a towel and had to get out of shower to answer door. She just stood there. I had to put some clothes on to get out of the room but she wouldn’t leave. This entire experience was mortifying and in front of my son. She was just mean. We were out before 11:30 am and it would have been sooner without interruptions. I went to front desk and they apologized saying the person working the counter earlier did not know how to put the late checkout in the computer. Why treat customers this way? The date was March 15, 2025.

Great Location, Outstanding Customer Service, Excellent Valet Service, Great Food - Mediocre Room / Dated Quality, BUT Housekeeping should go through training program…. We are a family of 3 visiting University of Tampa. The hotel couldn’t get closer to the school, just walk over the bridge. We were in room 403. Clean room, two queens slight view, but all in all, it was dated but fine. The problem was the bathroom. It’s an open shower or “wet” room. There’s no shower enclosure, which is fine- EXCEPT- the shower head is a handheld. The clip that it hung in was broken and instead of replacing it, they put it on a bar adjacent to the original location - but on the long side wall. It faces OUT into the room. By the time your shower is done, there is two inches of water in the entire bathroom. We had to build a dam between the toilet and sink and shower. We had to use all the towels to manage this problem. Disgusting experience going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and then getting back in bed… Room service was sporadic during our 4 days. There was no shower gel and I removed the bottle from the wall in an effort to let housekeeping know the bottle was empty. NOPE the bottle was put back in its holder, empty every time. Housekeeping refolded semi-dry to damp towels and put them back on the rack. One time, they cleaned and organized the bathroom but didn’t make the beds. We thought they were coming back so we left again for ahours…. NOPE… beds never made. Funny story, the room has a door to make it a connecting room if need be. Friday night, Saturday morning and Saturday night our neighbors were having the best sex you ever heard. It was fantastic…. Unless you’re a teenager sharing a room with your parents. My son put the pillow over his head and was dying a thousand deaths..… LOL… The front desk staff were ALWAYS nice, helpful, professional. The food staff were EXCELLENT. Look / ask for Regina. She has to be the nicest and most professional productive employee ever. Good hotel, just don’t stay in room 403.

I just wanna start off saying that Maddison and Joe go above and beyond to make sure my stay was great. I love this location. It’s right on the water with great accessibility to all things Tampa. We went for Gasparilla and the parade route was right out front of the hotel. This will be the place. I stay every year for Gasparilla from here on out!

Great location and service! The room was clean and comfortable. On sight valet parking is a plus! They had a great bar area. My friends and I had a great time hanging around the hotel and on the riverwalk. Too cold for the pool but it had a nice outdoors area. Would stay again
